Engaged! Casey and Matt

I got to mosey on down to Clearwater Beach on Saturday and take photos of Matt and Casey. Casey is the sister of Danielle, whose wedding was done by Kurz Studio Photography last summer. This couple is crazy fun.

Casey wanted some good jumping shots. This was my favorite. Didn't you guys read the sign?

You probably can't tell from looking at the pictures, but Saturday started off cold. It was kind of like sticking their feet in snow, not sand. Casey and Matt, you are crazy and brave. =)

Kurz Studio Child Photography: Clearwater Beach Family Photos

I got the chance to catch a couple of families in action at the beach at Sand Key, just south of Clearwater Beach. BRRRRR. Still lots of fun, though.

None of these kids had ever seen a beach before.

We found a neat, bright red lifeguard stand to take a few family portraits.

Beach Photo Tip

Ellie's Better Photos Tip #1: Don't Blend In!

Looking through recent photos, I have discovered a rule for dressing for a beach photo session. Our gulf coast beaches have the prettiest white sugar sand. This makes for a lot of light areas in photos. However, if you look closely, the sand does not show up as pure white in pictures but as a soft gray/brown.

My suggestion is to avoid wearing pastels if you are posing on the shore. Especially if you want some gorgeous black and white pictures. Truely white clothes look great. Jeans and dark/bright clothes are fine. Light colors and khaki sort of blend into the sand in pictures. Sort of like a beach-camo. Digg Technorati Delicious StumbleUpon Reddit

Engaged: Tim and Kristy

I got to meet and photograph the cutest couple this week while Drew babysat. Kristy, Tim, and I met up at Sand Key and the results were stunning! These guys know how to show their best side for the camera, that is for sure.

Sneak Peek: Bob & Nikki

We have decided to start a fun new feature on this blog. When we take wedding photos, the sheer volume of pictures takes us a while to edit. However, we know how fun it is to see your pictures, and how hard it is to wait. To help with that waiting, we are going to give couples a sneak peek. Andrew is going to choose his favorite shot (that he took), and I will pick one of mine.

Nikki is a bit of a photography buff herself, and she did a great job of not running over to watch the screens of our cameras during the slower moments of the wedding. I know I would have, but she obviously has greater willpower than me! Bob and Nikki, we had a lot of fun shooting your ceremony... Here is your sneak peek!
